HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Air Force Employee Assistance Program provides civilian employees and their families with free, confidential resources and support to help manage life challenges.
Eligible personnel include Air Force and Space Force federal civilians, non-appropriated fund employees, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve personnel and their families.
“The goal of any EAP program is to assist employees with personal and/or work-related problems that may impact their job performance or their overall health and emotional well-being,” said Robert Denney, EAP field consultant for Hanscom personnel.
Specialists are available 24/7 to provide expert guidance, information, and personalized referrals to service providers in the employee's area through EAP’s Work Life Services.
The Employee Assistance Program was expanded last year following a contract award by the Department of the Air Force.
“This program saves employees time by helping them with personal life issues that can otherwise distract them from work, such as child and elder care, education, financial or legal issues and more,” said Denney.
The EAP website at https://www.afpc.af.mil/Airman-and-Family/Personal-and-Work-Life/ provides a variety of resources and information to help employees manage work and life.
“Employees have access to monthly newsletters, articles, videos, podcasts, webinar recordings and self-care programs at the Magellan Ascend site,” said Denney. “Civilian employees are also offered discounted services through the LifeMart discount center.”
EAP also offers individual, family and couples short-term counseling in person or via telephone and video conference, as well as supervisor consultations.
Members and their families can access the Air Force Employee Assistance Program 24/7/365 via phone at 866-580-9078 or at the EAP website.
