Donators at Hanscom AFB contributed more than $44,877.00 to the annual workplace charity campaign since kicking off in November. “It was inspiring to see the generosity of Team Hanscom throughout this year’s campaign,” said Capt. Shirley Ye, installation CFC co-coordinator. “Despite starting late, the base community donated their time and money to help so many organizations in need.” Ye, along with Master Sgt. Vanessa Jessup, CFC co-coordinator, and a team of keyworkers, led this year’s CFC drive at Team Hanscom. The goal for this year’s campaign was to raise $46,000 and make 100 percent contact with military and civilian federal employees across the installation. Employees had the option to give a one-time donation, deduct a set amount from each paycheck, or pledge volunteer hours. Hanscom, along with other federal organizations in New England, are part of New England CFC. As of Jan. 17, according to the CFC New England campaign results website, more than 2,100 federal employees in the region have pledged $1.4 million and donated more than 575 hours. For more than 60 years, federal employees have contributed more than $8.6 billion to help those in need locally, across the nation, and around the world. The CFC is administered by the Office of Personnel Management and is the official workplace giving campaign for federal employees and retirees.
