HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The 66th Force Support Squadron will host a hiring event here Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon to fill full- and part-time positions at the Child Development Center.
The event will provide an opportunity for applicants to interview with officials for child care positions.
“Join us at our hiring event, where opportunities for nurturing young minds begin with on-the-spot interviews,” said Maj. Erica Peat, 66 FSS commander. “We’re not just hiring employees; we’re building futures for military-connected children and careers for passionate caregivers.”
According to Human Resources officials, attendees must register prior to the event on a USAJobs pre-registration page.
New CDC employees will receive competitive pay, a hiring bonus, health and life insurance, paid vacation and sick time, paid federal holidays, retirement and 401(k) benefits, tuition assistance, a transportation subsidy, training, mentoring and professional development, as well as career advancement opportunities within the federal workforce.
Personnel working at Hanscom AFB also have access to a free gym membership, an auto skills facility, recreation center, golf course and more.
To meet the demands of a national shortage in daycare providers, Air Force officials in 2022 began providing direct-care employees a 100 percent childcare fee waiver for their first child enrolled in installation child development programs.
According to hiring officials, whether starting your career in child care or if you already have experience, child and youth development centers have positions available at all levels.
Earlier this year, the Hanscom AFB CDC once again earned accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
