HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Base officials will host free Halloween- and fall-themed events throughout October to help build connections across the installation.

The 66th Force Support Squadron will host a “Halloween Movie Night” at the Hanscom AFB Family Campground in Bedford, Massachusetts, Oct. 14 from 6:30 to 10 p.m.

The 66th Security Forces Squadron Defender Council will partner with the Chapel to host a Trunk-or-Treat event Oct. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel parking lot. This community event will include candy and pumpkin decorating.

In addition, FSS will host “Halloween Harvest” Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Outdoor Recreation. This event will include a bounce house, candy, crafts and games.

Each event is open to everyone with base access.

SFS will run “Pumpkin Patrol” Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. while children trick-or-treat in base housing.

“Our mission is to protect our community, and on Halloween, that means ensuring the safety of our youngest community members while they trick-or-treat,” said Senior Airman Britton Auxier, SFS entry controller and co-organizer for Pumpkin Patrol.

Defenders, along with volunteers, will walk through family housing wearing reflective vests to ensure children remain safe. Military volunteers are asked to wear their uniform.

As always, members of the Hanscom AFB community are encouraged to report suspicious activity to Pumpkin Patrol participants, the Law Enforcement Desk at 781-225-5000, or the Crime Stop Hotline at 781-225-6920.

Volunteers interested in participating in Pumpkin Patrol should email Auxier at Britton.Auxier@us.af.mil or Officer Steven McGarty at Steven.Mcgarty@us.af.mil.
