March 13 hiring event targets child care staff

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – A hiring event will take place March 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Minuteman Commons to fill both full- and part-time positions at the Child Development Center here.

Interested applicants will have the opportunity to interview with hiring officials for various roles within the CDC. 

"We recognize the profound impact of caring for military children," said Rachel Washington-Freeman, CDC director. “Every day offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of our nation’s heroes’ families.” 

To participate, attendees must pre-register at USAJobs prior to March 11, according to Hanscom AFB Human Resources officials.

Whether individuals are beginning their career in child care or already possess experience, positions are available at all levels.

Among the many benefits available, those hired may receive a hiring bonus, health and life insurance, paid vacation and sick time, paid federal holidays, retirement and 401(k) benefits, tuition assistance, a transportation subsidy, training, and more.

Individuals will also have the opportunity to advance in the federal workforce.

“At Hanscom Air Force Base, we prioritize nurturing our workforce through professional development programs and ample career advancement pathways,” said Nicole Craver, 66th Force Support Squadron Human Resources specialist.

Employees will also receive access to the Fitness and Sports Center, an auto skills facility, a recreation center, nine-hole golf course, and more.

Other benefits include a 100 percent child care fee waiver for the first child enrolled in installation child development programs for direct-care employees, according to Air Force officials.
