HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Base officials will host a Heroes Homecoming ceremony and Summer Bash event June 14 starting at 3 p.m., to honor deployers and bring the community together.

Both events will take place near the P-40 Warhawk static display on Marrett Street.

"Recognizing those who have deployed is not just an act of gratitude, it’s to honor their sacrifices and unwavering dedication to our nation’s security," said Staff Sgt. Caleb Teats, Heroes Homecoming event organizer.

Roads around the P-40 display will be temporarily closed to accommodate the ceremony scheduled to start at 4 p.m.

Heroes Homecoming will include deployers from mission partners, geographically separated units, and organizations across the installation.

Military and civilian personnel who have returned from deployment since June 2022 are invited to take part. Those interested should email caleb.teats@us.af.mil before June 10.

Immediately following the Heroes Homecoming ceremony, the 66th Force Support Squadron will host Summer Bash in the same area.

“The Summer Bash is a fun, family-friendly event with something for everyone,” said Andrew Lane, Summer Bash event organizer.

There will be a free barbecue, along with additional food options available for purchase from private organizations.

Summer Bash will include a variety of happenings, such as bounce houses, pony rides, a nine-hole miniature golf course, carnival rides, and a live band offering karaoke.

"We've got a great lineup of activities to keep everyone entertained,” said Lane. “The live band is going to be a highlight, allowing participants to perform their favorite songs with a real band.”

The event will also feature a fireworks display, scheduled to begin around 9 p.m.

"We're really excited about this year's events,” said Lane. “It's a great way to honor our heroes and then have some fun as a community. We encourage everyone to come out, enjoy the day, and make some wonderful memories.”

All with base access are invited to attend both events.
