HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The 66th Security Forces Squadron has implemented immediate changes to the foreign national installation access policy.
Service members and other Department of Defense ID cardholders who wish to sponsor foreign national visitors must provide the required forms and documentation to 66 SFS at least 14 days prior to the visit. Same day visit requests will no longer be approved.
The 14-day period aligns with Air Force Materiel Command policy and allows security forces time to appropriately evaluate foreign national visitors. Trusted traveler escort authority does not apply to non-U.S. citizens.
A foreign national is any person who is not a U.S. or naturalized citizen. Lawful permanent residents, also known as green card holders, are considered foreign nationals and must comply with all installation access regulations.
Foreign national visiting Hanscom AFB must posses a valid and unexpired passport. In addition, one other form of government issued identification must be provided:
- Foreign passport with an I-1551 visa stamp or a printed I-1551 machine-readable immigrant visa
- Permanent resident card (green card)
- Current, valid driver’s license or state identification card (including outlying possessions of American Samoa Swains Island)
- Federal, state or local government issued identification card containing a photograph and biometric information
Persons who hold dual citizenship in the U.S. and another country will be treated exclusively as U.S. citizens and do not need to undergo the foreign national visitor process.
The Hanscom AFB visitor control center is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. It closes at 2 p.m. on scheduled family days and is closed on weekends and federal holidays.
Installation access forms may be requested from hanscom.police.services@us.af.mil.
