HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The Air Force Personnel Center will hold an “Own Your Future” civilian career management roadshow here Sept. 11.
Two “Own Your Future” sessions will be open to all Department of the Air Force civilian employees in all pay grades, military members who supervise civilians and interns in developmental programs.
Morning and afternoon sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
“This is an opportunity to find out how employees can invest in themselves,” said Michael Van Nest, 66th Force Support Squadron force development flight chief. “I hope they walk away with a better understanding of the great opportunities that are available to them.”
Preregistration is highly encouraged at https://app.meet.ps/attendee/w77wzf5x.
A one-hour town hall, targeted at interns in developmental programs such as Premier College Internship Program, Copper Cap, and Palace Acquire, will be held from 1 to 2 p.m.
All events will be held at Minuteman Commons in the Ballroom.
AFPC experts will be available to answer questions about training and development, career paths, mentoring and guidance opportunities that align with their professional goals.
The Department of the Air Force is committed to developing its civilian workforce and AFPC has created two roadmaps, enterprise and functional, to help employees manage their careers and their promotion aspirations.
The roadmaps outline the experience, education, training and leadership requirements across basic, intermediate and advanced foundational competencies, from GS-1 to senior executive service and functional leaders.
