HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The annual privatized housing tenant satisfaction survey is now underway, providing residents here an opportunity to directly influence improvements in their housing community.

The survey, administered by an independent third party, is open to all residents and provides critical feedback used to shape future investments, maintenance priorities and quality-of-life initiatives.

“This survey is one of the most important tools we have to understand our residents’ needs and experiences,” said LauraLee Morris, Hanscom AFB resident advocate. “Their feedback directly drives decisions made and the improvements throughout the community.”

Over the past year, officials have implemented a range of upgrades from previous survey responses as well as input from the Hanscom AFB Resident Council.

Upgrades include more than 200 kitchen appliances that were replaced throughout the community, with additional upgrades in progress.

In addition, 322 homes in Musket Meadows One, Patriot Village and Flintlock Ridge received replacement HVAC units, representing a $1.7 million investment.

“We’ve made significant strides in improving the day-to-day living experience for our residents,” said Morris. “These efforts reflect our commitment to delivering safe, comfortable and reliable homes.”

A pilot program is now underway to install HVAC and duct systems in Flintlock Ridge for 24 homes occupied by residents receiving full basic allowance for housing.

Infrastructure and community enhancements have also continued.

New overflow parking areas have been added over the past two years, with more paved parking scheduled this year in Flintlock Ridge.

To improve safety and quality-of-life, six new dog waste stations were installed, and lighting upgrades are underway in 80 bedrooms within Flintlock Ridge homes that previously did not have overhead lighting.

The lighting project received additional funding from Air Force Civil Engineering Center in late 2025 and early 2026 to continue.

Officials are also addressing indoor air quality, installing approximately 70 bathroom exhaust vents each year in homes that previously lacked adequate ventilation.

Recreational spaces have seen improvements as well, according to Morris, including upgrades to a playground in Battle Glenn and the complete replacement of another in Flintlock Ridge.

“All of these improvements are a direct result of resident feedback and the dedication of our Resident Council,” Morris said. “We encourage every resident to take the time to complete the survey so we can continue building on this progress.”

Residents typically receive survey invitations via email. Responses are confidential, and participation is voluntary.

Survey results will be reviewed by Air Force leadership and housing partners to identify trends, address concerns and prioritize future projects.
