The Lantern: Hanscom Collaboration and Innovation Center will host an innovation symposium June 2 at the University of Massachusetts Lowell Applied Research Corporation’s, Northstar Campus in Lincoln, Massachusetts.

This year’s theme is “Accelerating the Warfighting Advantage: Speed, Scale and Synergy.”

“Our mission at the Lantern is to empower the Hanscom AFB workforce with tools and information,” said Christopher Lind, Lantern executive director. “We also want to support connections to enablers and the innovation ecosystem.”

This collaborative mindset helps the Department of the Air Force execute with speed, agility and synergy to deliver capabilities to the warfighter.

The one-day symposium is open to Hanscom AFB personnel, including acquisition professionals, industry, academia and other defense partners.

“One of our focus areas is to support collaboration- and innovation-based events like the Lantern Innovation Symposium and Light the Lantern,” said Ted Johnson, Lantern business operations manager. “Events like this help connect our PEOs and PAEs with organizations like Defense Innovation Unit and AFWERX, and defense partners like UMASS Lowell.”

Several discussion panels are planned throughout the day, with a focus on wartime acquisition, small business and workforce automation.
