HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Officials here are seeking candidates for a recruitment and hiring event focused on civilian positions supporting critical acquisition and mission execution efforts, including key roles within the Electronic Systems Directorate.

The event will connect hiring officials with applicants for invitation-only interview opportunities in June 2026. Candidates must submit resumes through the application portal by the May 11 deadline.

“These positions directly support the development, acquisition, and sustainment of complex electronic systems that enable warfighter communications, command and control, and mission execution,” said Lea Kirkwood, program executive officer for Electronic Systems.

While the hiring event supports multiple mission areas, officials said the Electronic Systems Directorate represents several opportunities, particularly in career fields that directly enable acquisition and sustainment operations. These include program management, financial management, contracting, engineering, operations research, and accounting.

Positions are available at Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts; Robins Air Force Base, Georgia; Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma; and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

The Electronic Systems Directorate consists of approximately 1,800 personnel executing an annual portfolio valued at more than $11 billion.

The organization delivers sensing and electronic capabilities that support joint and allied forces, with a focus on achieving decision advantage across the electromagnetic spectrum.

Its portfolio spans a wide range of mission areas, including airspace management, long-range radar and battle control technologies, force protection, and advanced electronic warfare capabilities designed to enhance survivability and mission effectiveness in contested environments.

Personnel play a key role in overseeing acquisition strategy, program execution, and lifecycle management of complex systems that underpin command, control, and communications capabilities across the Air Force enterprise.

These efforts align with Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s broader mission to deliver and sustain warfighter capabilities from development through retirement.

Program managers are the strategic leaders who make the calculated risk decisions needed to balance system capability, available funding, and need dates, ensuring warfighters have the advanced tools they need to protect and defend our nation.

Working alongside them, Contract specialists are trained to wield the exclusive authority to legally commit government funds and secure the industry partnerships that make U.S. military capabilities possible.

Financial managers serve as the strategic investment experts who manage billions of dollars with absolute precision to ensure every mission is funded and every taxpayer dollar is used effectively for national security.

Electronic Systems Engineers help with the technological edge, solving complex technical problems to invent, test, and integrate sophisticated systems that keep forces safe and dominant.

Leaders noted the hiring effort supports ongoing workforce development initiatives designed to strengthen the civilian workforce responsible for delivering integrated capabilities and maintaining operational readiness.

Applicants selected through resume review will be contacted with next steps for interviews and potential hiring actions.
