HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – The 66th Civil Engineering Division Commuter Management Office here will conduct a rideshare survey beginning May 18 to learn more about the commuting behaviors of employees.
Military and federal employees will be prompted to complete an anonymous and voluntary survey at the startup screen when they log into the Air Force network.
“Your feedback could help shape solutions to ease traffic flow, improve commutes and make daily travel to and from Hanscom Air Force Base more efficient,” said Scott Sheehan, an environmental engineer with 66 CED.
This annual Clean Air Act survey complies with a Massachusetts environmental regulation and should take less than five minutes to complete, according to Sheehan.
Questions include interest in vanpool and carpool commuting options and offer employees an option to sign up for additional information.
“Choosing alternatives to driving alone can help reduce congestion, lower emissions and decrease long-term infrastructure costs across Massachusetts,” said Sheehan. “Federal employees may also qualify for transportation benefits that help offset the cost of commuting by public transit.”
According to Sheehan, federal employees can receive $340 per month to pay for commuting to work via vanpool or public transportation.
