HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Master Sgt. Sarah McAuliffe, a development advisor with the 66th Force Support Squadron, recently earned the Master Sgt. Kurt Dodd Development Advisor of the Year Award at the Air Force Materiel Command level.
The award recognizes a development advisor who demonstrates excellence in enhancing Airmen’s readiness through training, mentoring and leadership development.
“I’m honored to be chosen for this award,” said McAuliffe. “Everyone I've met in the development advisor community is so hard-working and professional. Competing against people of that caliber was tough.”
The award honors Dodd’s legacy of dedication to enlisted education and professional development, qualities McAuliffe’s leaders say she also embodies.
“McAuliffe’s recognition as the AFMC Development Advisor of the Year highlights her incredible impact on Team Hanscom,” said Michael Van Nest, 66 FSS force development flight chief. “She has revolutionized force development and strengthened mission readiness across our entire region.”
Development advisors manage professional enhancement programs and serve as principal advisors to commanders and supervisors on force development and professional enhancement.
“There isn’t a time when I'm not thinking about how I can help somebody,” she said. “When Airmen get the resources they need to be ready, then the mission gets accomplished.”
The award recognizes exceptional contributions to enlisted education and force development. It reflects sustained excellence in improving training programs and strengthening readiness across organizations.
“I’m proud of what I do,” said McAuliffe. “I do my best to do the right thing and jump in where I’m needed to help people reach maximum readiness.”
