HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center will be hosting a Focus Week Oct. 24 to 28, including courses offered locally and via Defense Collaboration Services.
According to organizers, this session has offerings both geared toward specific functional communities and others on general topics of interest.
By using Defense Collaboration Services, or DCS, a broader range of subject matter can be delivered to more locations and offered to personnel who otherwise might not have the chance to attend, said Brooke Belickis, Focus Week program manager.
“The DCS courses make training available geographically through distance learning,” she said, “but it is preferred that you attend in person when possible.”
Some of this quarter’s offerings include: “Acquisition Strategy Development,” “AFMC Role in Capability Requirements,” “Should Cost” and “Small Business – Myth Busters and Insights for Program Managers.” One of the courses being offered locally at Hanscom is “Intro to Acquisition Intelligence.”
To see this quarter’s complete schedule and register for classes, visit the Acquisition Now Continuous Learning website. Step-by-step instructions for how to apply are available at https://cs.eis.afmc.af.mil/sites/PerMan/wkdev/focus/Continuity%20Documents/Applying%20for%20CL%20Courses%20in%20AcqNow.pptx.
Organizers encourage personnel to take advantage of the opportunity.
"There are courses for just about anyone,” said Belickis. “You don't want to miss out on a course where a subject could help with your position, it sparks your interest or where you can obtain valuable continuous learning points.”
