I hope everyone had an enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend as we took time to remember and honor all of those who have given their lives to protect our freedom. We were fortunate to have great weather as we enjoyed our outdoor activities, but this was also a reminder that we have officially started our 101 Critical Days of Summer safety campaign.

While we did brief this at the ESC Commander's call, I wanted to take a short moment to remind our other partners at Team Hanscom to be careful as summer rolls in and we enjoy the multitude of recreational activities outdoors.

Whatever your hobbies or interests, please be sure you are using good risk assessment as you participate in activities and enjoy yourself. This includes wearing the appropriate safety gear, ensuring you know how to operate recreational equipment properly and that you are not impaired while you play.

If you are traveling, be sure to pace yourself and check that your vehicle is up to the trip. Taking a moment to pause and consider all of the risk factors will ensure your continuing contributions to increasing our warfighting capability. Be sure to take advantage of the mild summer months and enjoy all that New England has to offer. Stop by Outdoor Recreation or the Library for discounted tickets to area attractions.
