HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. – Matheson MacLeod, sits in the cab of one of Hanscom’s fire trucks during a visit to the Child Development Center by members of the Base Fire Department for Fire Prevention Week. The Fire Department hosted a number of educational events and visits across the base throughout the week to educate the base community on the importance of fire safety. On Oct. 10, the Fire Department will hold a Fire Prevention Walk at Castle Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will include several fire safety demonstrations, an amusement area for children and plenty of food and refreshments in addition to fire prevention giveaways and prizes. Capt. Thomas Lee, Geospatial Intelligence program manager, is timed on the base track during the run phase of the physical fitness test last month. The 66th Force Support Squadron has issued guidance on how fitness assessments will be conducted during winter weather conditions at Hanscom. The guidance is in accordance with AFI 36-2905. The physical fitness assessment winter schedule begins Dec. 1. Assessments will take place Tuesday through Thursday at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11 a.m. with eight testing slots available per session.
