In remembrance: former ESD Commander Chubb
HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Retired Lt. Gen. Melvin F. (Nick) Chubb, Jr., passed away July 25, 2014, after a short illness. Chubb commanded what was then the Air Force’s Electronic Systems Division at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., from August 1984 until his retirement on Oct 1, 1988. During his tenure at Hanscom, he oversaw development of the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System, better known as Joint STARS, and many other accomplishments. (File photo)
