U.S. Army Air Corps ace dies
BOURNE, Mass. – Members of the Patriot Honor Guard from Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. perform a six-mail flag folding detail at the funeral for retired Lt. Col. James "Goody" Goodson, a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps ace and former prisoner of war, at Bourne Massachusetts National Veterans' Cemetery, May 9. Goodson, who passed away May 1 at age 93, was credited with 15 aerial kills and 15 ground kills during World War II. His honors include the Silver Star, nine awards of the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Purple Heart and 21 awards of the Air Medal. (U.S. Air Force photo by Mark Herlihy)
