Salute to veterans held

World War II veteran Aurio Pierro salutes the American flag during the Hanscom Salute to Veterans ceremony at the Hanscom Conference Center Nov. 7. Pierro served in the U.S. Army’s 3rd Armored Division during the Second World War and achieved the rank of staff sergeant. The base held the ceremony to recognize and thank local veterans for their service to the nation. Veterans from World War II to the current campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan attended the event.
