Lexington Battle Green reenactment

LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Justin Liu, portraying drummer William Diamond Jr., a Colonial militia, sounds the alarm as a column of British regulars approach the Lexington Battle Green during the annual Patriot’s Day reenactment here, April 20. It was on April 19, 1775, that British Soldiers and Marines fired upon local Minutemen standing on the town’s Battle Green after a shot rang out. This was the first battle of the American Revolution.
