Rules of the road for bicyclists
Master Sgt. Ryan Dillingham, Airman Leadership School commandant, approaches Senior Airman Kyle Hansen, 66th Security Forces Squadron entry controller, on his bicycle at the Hartwell Gate Nov. 1. When approaching any of the installation gates, bicyclists must merge with traffic or as otherwise directed by the entry controller. Per Massachusetts law, bicyclists must ride as far to the right side of the roadway as possible except for those roadways with a designated bicycle lane. While bicyclists are required to abide by all traffic signs and signals, they are permitted to pass stopped vehicles. (U.S. Air Force photo by Linda LaBonte Britt)
