C3I&N engineer talks with STARBASE students

1st Lt. Jazmin Furtado, a U.S. Air Force engineer, speaks to STARBASE students from Peabody, Mass., public schools, during a presentation at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., May 30. Furtado demonstrated equipment and talked about her science, technology, engineering and mathematics background, and how her education at the U.S. Air Force Academy and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology prepared her for a career designing systems ground troops use to communicate with aircraft. STARBASE is a Department of Defense education program for elementary students, who are historically under-represented in STEM fields, to motivate them to explore those fields.
