STARBASE Academy partnership unlocks STEM for English-learning students
Elementary and early childhood education students from Bridgewater State University study Newton's Second Law of Motion at the STARBASE Academy at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., May 18. Students and professors from BSU are partnering with Hanscom STARBASE, a Department of Defense Youth Program that focuses on science, technology, engineering and math, to develop skills needed to teach future fifth grade STEM classes, with an additional emphasis on teaching students who are English-language learners.
