Hanscom celebrates Arbor Day

Col. Taona Enriquez, installation commander, signs an Arbor Day proclamation during a ceremony at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., April 28, while seventh grade students from Hanscom Middle School look on. This is the 35th consecutive year that Hanscom AFB has been recognized as a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation, a non-profit organization. To qualify for the distinction, a community must have a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, a comprehensive forestry program and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
