Hanscom celebrates Arbor Day
Col. Taona Enriquez, installation commander, and Hanscom Middle School student Madison Humphrey, plant a tree during an Arbor Day ceremony at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., April 28. The ceremony marks the 35th consecutive year that Hanscom AFB has been recognized as a Tree City USA community by the Arbor Day Foundation, a non-profit organization. To qualify for the distinction, a community must have a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, a comprehensive forestry program and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
