HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The Department of the Air Force announces the availability of a draft Environmental Assessment and draft Finding of No Significant Impact for the alternatives proposed to repair the road and address shoreline erosion at the Fourth Cliff Recreation site located in Scituate, Massachusetts.

The draft EA, prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the Council on Environmental Quality regulations, and Department of the Air Force instructions implementing NEPA, evaluates potential impacts of the proposed action and alternatives on the environment including the “No Action Alternative.”

Based on this analysis, the DAF has prepared a proposed FONSI. The Air Force seeks public comments on the Draft EA and Draft FONSI and will consider all input received before reaching a final decision.

Copies of the Draft EA, EA appendices and Draft FONSI are available for review and download.

66th Civil Engineering Division officials recommend individuals without internet access visit a local library or town hall for assistance in downloading the documents. Requests for hardcopies will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Written comments should be sent to: Jim Maravelias, 66 CED Environmental Engineer, 120 Grenier Street, Hanscom AFB, MA 01731-1910 or emailed to james.maravelias.1@us.af.mil. Officials will accept written comments on the draft EA and FONSI through March 20.
