  • Ellsworth reflects on tenure at Hanscom

    For the past two years, Col. Chad Ellsworth has led the 66th Air Base Group through a massive regional support mission, while supporting programs offices with a critical global impact. For the past three months, he’s led Team Hanscom through the first phase of COVID-19 response operations. Now, as he prepares to relinquish command of the 66 ABG later this month and move onto his next Air Force assignment, Ellsworth and his family are reflecting on their time at Hanscom as residents, community members and teammates.

  • AF Ventures participants leverage new skills to support COVID-19 response

    Personnel from the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Digital Directorate recently leveraged their Air Force Ventures Fellowship experience to help support the COVID-19 Joint Acquisition Task Force. Kristen Reed, acquisition program manager for AWACS Block 40/45, Capt. Brian Wolff, lead engineer for Air Force Weather Programs Cloud Computing, and Maj. David Ho, deputy chief engineer for the Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division at Peterson AFB, Colorado, were among the first cohort of 21 Airmen selected for the program. Fellows were matched to venture capital firms in the Silicon Valley area for a six-week immersion learning opportunity and to help bridge the gap between the Department of Defense and industry.
  • Supplies provided for phased return

    Officials have purchased various supplies to be disseminated throughout base organizations prior to entering the next part of Hanscom’s phased return to full capacity. The bulk order includes touch-free and wall-mounted hand sanitizer dispensers, refills and face coverings.

    The U.S. Senate confirmed Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., June 9, to be the 22nd Air Force chief of staff, clearing the way for the decorated pilot and experienced commander to become the first African American in history to lead a branch of the U.S. military as its highest-ranking officer.

  • Hanscom Spouses Club present students, spouses with scholarships

    The Hanscom Spouses Club virtually awarded scholarships to graduating high school seniors and military spouses during the 59th annual HSC Scholarship Awards June 3. The HSC awarded a total of $40,000 to 13 high school graduates and two spouses, each of whom will pursue degrees in the fall.
